Back in 2019, I won 2nd place in the Conceptual Photography Series category at the Monovisions Photography Awards with this project:Sweet Dreams.

And then... I moved on. Never really shared it. Never gave it space.

Surreal conceptual portrait of a woman held down by multiple hands, symbolizing sleep paralysis and fear

This project is personal, dark, and still one of the most honest things I’ve created.

It dives into nightmares, sleep paralysis, and the fine line between science and superstition — the shit that haunts you when you're stuck between awake and asleep.

Abstract black and white photo of a woman with drawn-on eyes over a blindfold and dark substance in her mouth, portraying nightmare imagery

Created in collaboration with Emily Rault, the series was based on our shared experiences with sleep paralysis and night terrors.

For me, it was a way to process fear — through images that sit uncomfortably between control and chaos.

It still hits.

"What is a nightmare, really?"

Sometimes we make things and bury them.

But this one still hits.Glad it’s finally out in the open.
